Minsk was another country ticking exercise which we could sandwich neatly between Ukraine and Austria. The city itself is really grand with impressive buildings such as the national opera and theatre below. We had a nice AirBNB overlooking Gorky Park and were able to walk everywhere we needed.

You never know what a trip will throw a light on and for Minsk it was to be the apartment that Lee Harvey Oswald lived in between 1959 and 1962 after defecting. He ived here until returning to the US and assassinating Kennedy.

Lenin is still a big cheese in these parts and this was a particularly grand statue.
